this technique will give you the most accurate and targeted audience, without “guessing” what is the best audience for your campaign, and without any boring research or analysation process.
in fact, this targeting technique you’re going to learn in a minute from now, is one of the simplest & easiest methods I ever saw, and believe me, I saw a lot.
so – how this targeting method works and why it is so powerful?
well, let me explain:
if you are familiar with facebook paid advertising, you probably know how to target a specific audience that based on common interests, demographics and behaviors, like target only people that are interested in “weight loss” for instance.
but how can you know if this “weight loss” audience is the best converting audience for the product you’re promoting?
facebook won’t admit this, but a lot of the times the audience you have created based on interests and demographics is not really relevant to the product you’re promoting!
think that if I just liked a fitness page on facebook – facebook may put me in the “weight-loss” interest, even though I don’t really want to get in shape!
so, how can you target an audience that is really relevant for your offers?
the solution we found for this problem is to create an audience that made from a lookalike of people that watched a specific video in the product niche.
We created a short 4 steps method that will teach you how to create this quality audience, and after you will learn this method, you will have the ability to create a targeted audience that convert for any niche and product you want to promote.
so, without further adieu, let’s start:
step 1: finding a promotion video
the first step of our targeting method is to find a 1-3 minute long video that relate to the product you are promoting
if the affiliate offer you are promoting have a sells video (or a vsl), you can cut your short video from there and use it.
if not, you can try to find a video that speak about the product or his niche in general.
for example – if you’re promoting a weight loss program, you can use a video that talking about fitness food or sport exercises, or maybe even a video about “4 mistakes that you do in the gym”
if you don’t have any free video that you can use, you can create your own.
step 2: promoting your video with video views campaign
now that you have a video, the next step is to promote it with an video views campaign.
go to the facebook ads manager and create a new campaign. make sure your marketing objective is video views.
now, in the adset level, target your audience with some common interests that relates to your niche.
set the budget for 10$ a day, and hit continue.
now, on the ad level, create a video ad without any link or call to action – just the video and a small text that explain why should your audience watch it.
publish the campaign, and wait until it get at least 4000 views, then turn the campaign off.
step 3: create a targeted lookalike audience
after you stopped the video campaign, go to the audience manager, click on create audience, and choose custom audience.
then, go to the “Use Facebook sources” line and choose video.
click on engagement, and choose “People who have watched at 50% of your video”
choose the correct video and name the audience.
now, wait few minutes until the audience creation is done, and then create another audience.
this time, choose a lookalike audience.
use the your new audience as the source of the lookalike, choose your audience geographic locations, and select the audience size to be 1%.
click on “create audience”, and let facebook system to do it’s own job.
step 4: advertise your offer to the lookalike audience
now, after creating a specific targeted lookalike audience, you now need to set up a new campaigns, and use the lookalike audience as your main audience.
you will see that the CTR of your ads is high, and the conversion rates are increased dramatically.
my tip for you is to use this lookalike audience in all of your campaigns, and even to run multiple affiliate offers in the same niche to this audience.
a good target lookalike audience like this is a goldmine, and all you have to do now is to dig in.
